THESIS: Information warfare is not conducted over the internet โ€” it is conducted through the internet. The bulletproof hosting, the proxy networks, the VPN infrastructure we have documented in 039A-C are not just tools of cybercrime. They are the delivery infrastructure for information warfare. The same pipes carry malware AND propaganda. The same jurisdictional arbitrage that protects Pfcloud also protects state disinformation operations. Operation Gladio's "Strategy of Tension" didn't end โ€” it digitized. The infrastructure is the weapon.

I. The Strategy of Tension โ€” Then and Now

Source: "NATO's Secret Armies: Operation Gladio and Terrorism in Western Europe" (Daniele Ganser)

"Secret warrior and right-wing terrorist Cicuttini had fled to Spain on board a military plane after the 1972 Italian Peteano bomb which years later was traced back to right-wing terrorist Vincenzo Vinciguerra and the secret army by judge Felice Casson and started the discovery of the Gladio network across Europe."

Source: "Covid-19 Psychological Operations and the War for Technocracy" (Iain Davis)

"In the case of the clandestine NATO networks spread across Europe, referred to in shorthand as Operation Gladio after the Italian network that was exposed in the 1990s, the purpose was to implement the 'Strategy of Tension.' As one of the perpetrators, Vincenzo Vinciguerra, testified in 1984, this involved attacking innocent civilians, including women and children, in order to make the public think that a state of emergency could be declared."

Vinciguerra's 1984 testimony established: NATO-aligned networks used false-flag terrorism against their own populations to create fear, justify security measures, and prevent political movements that threatened the established order. The "Strategy of Tension" was not a conspiracy theory โ€” it was documented in Italian parliamentary investigations, Swiss military inquiries, and Belgian parliamentary committees.

The digital equivalent: disinformation campaigns that create fear, justify surveillance, and prevent political movements that threaten established power. The infrastructure has changed (from dead drops and military planes to bulletproof hosting and residential proxies). The strategy has not.

II. Operation Condor โ€” The Template for Global Information Warfare

Source: "The Weight of the Stars: The Life of Anarchist Octavio Alberola"

"There is a similarity between Operation Gladio and the Operation Condor, which was being carried out in South America at the time. And behind it all was the long reach of the CIA and US minister Henry Kissinger. However, although the mechanics were similar, the countries in which they were operating were very different."

Gladio (Europe) + Condor (South America) = global template. CIA coordination, local execution, plausible deniability through compartmentalization. In 2026, the same model operates digitally:

III. Edward Bernays and the Architecture of Mass Manipulation

Source: Multiple OSINT Library entries on Bernays

"A nephew of the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, Zionist Bernays boasts of his ability to control the public mind." โ€” On Bernays' role in Woodrow Wilson's Committee on Public Information (CPI)

"Alongside the numerous, well-documented campaigns he directed โ€” including one for the United Fruit Company which led to the 1954 CIA-engineered coup that overthrew the democratically elected president of Guatemala โ€” Bernays wrote prolifically. His books, Crystallizing Public Opinion (1923), Propaganda (1928)..."

Bernays' 1928 text opens: "The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society." This is not a whistleblower revelation โ€” it is the founding document of the public relations industry. Written openly. Published commercially. Implemented industrially.

The lineage: Bernays (1920s) โ†’ CIA psychological operations (1950s) โ†’ Tavistock social engineering (1960s) โ†’ corporate PR (1980s) โ†’ social media manipulation (2010s) โ†’ AI-generated disinformation (2026). Each generation refines the tools. The objective โ€” manufacturing consent for power structures โ€” remains constant.

IV. The Tavistock Institute: "The World's Premiere Brainwashing Institute"

Source: Daniel Estulin "Tavistock Institute" (2015) + John Coleman "Tavistock Institute of Human Relations"

"Its purpose was to establish the 'breaking point' of men under stress, under the direction of the British Army Bureau of Psychological Warfare, commanded by Sir John Rawlings-Reese. Sigmund Freud was associated with the Institute. Tavistock Institute developed the mass brain-washing techniques which were first used experimentally on American prisoners of war in Korea."

Coleman's table of contents: "Founding the World's Premiere Brainwashing Institute" ยท "Social engineering and the Social scientist" ยท "Do we have what H.G. Wells called 'An Invisible Government?'" ยท "Mass communication and mass manipulation"

Whether one accepts all claims about Tavistock at face value or not, the documented facts are:

  • The British military created a psychological research institute in 1921
  • It studied population responses to stress and trauma
  • Its researchers went on to hold positions in media, intelligence, and government
  • Its methods influenced the CIA's MKUltra program (documented via FOIA)
  • Its techniques for mass persuasion were adopted by the advertising and PR industries

The relevance to 2026: the internet is the most efficient mass persuasion delivery system ever built. Every technique developed from Tavistock through MKUltra through corporate PR now operates at scale through social media platforms. And those platforms run on infrastructure we can name: server farms, CDNs, proxy networks, and โ€” at the margins โ€” bulletproof hosting for the operations that won't survive content moderation.

V. RAND's "Firehose of Falsehood" โ€” The Doctrine for Digital Propaganda

Source: RAND Corporation "The Russian 'Firehose of Falsehood' Propaganda Model" (2016)

RAND identified four key characteristics of the Russian propaganda model:

  1. High-volume and multichannel โ€” flood all available platforms simultaneously
  2. Rapid, continuous, and repetitive โ€” first-mover advantage in narrative
  3. Lacks commitment to objective reality โ€” contradictions are features, not bugs
  4. Lacks commitment to consistency โ€” throw everything at the wall, see what sticks

"The Kremlin's pioneering use of fake social media accounts that are fully or partially automated, as well as those operated by humans, deserves attention."

RAND published this in 2016 as analysis of an adversary. By 2024, the same techniques are deployed by at least 14 state actors documented by Google TAG, Meta, and Microsoft. The infrastructure requirements for firehose propaganda:

Bot automation at scaleVPS clusters with rotating proxiesGHOSTYNETWORKS infrastructure (039A)
Attribution avoidanceVPN chains, Tor exits, proxy networksKape Technologies owns 4 major VPNs (034C)

The infrastructure we document is the delivery mechanism for state-level information warfare. When RAND analyzes the "firehose of falsehood," they are analyzing the payload. We are analyzing the pipes.

VI. "The Death of Truth" โ€” How Infrastructure Enables Post-Truth

Source: Michiko Kakutani "The Death of Truth"

Kakutani traces the lineage from Hannah Arendt's analysis of totalitarianism โ€” "in an ever-changing, incomprehensible world" where the flood of information creates the same disorientation as censorship โ€” through to the modern attention economy where truth and falsehood are algorithmically equivalent.

The "firehose of falsehood" works not because people believe the lies, but because they stop believing anything. Total cynicism is the goal. When trust collapses, power can operate without accountability. This is the surveillance state's endgame: not 1984's "Big Brother is watching" but rather "nobody can be trusted, so only the state can impose order."

VII. The Ministry of Truth: UK's Counter-Disinformation Units

Source: Big Brother Watch "Ministry of Truth" Report (January 2023)

"The Disinformation Index describes itself as a data and intelligence service to support the disruption of disinformation. It works across three areas โ€“ the first uses artificial intelligence-supported analysis to index the risks of a website pushing disinformation."

Big Brother Watch documented that the UK government's counter-disinformation units flagged legitimate journalistic content as "disinformation" โ€” including GB News, The Daily Sceptic, and individual Twitter accounts. The infrastructure built to "fight disinformation" becomes the infrastructure of censorship. This is the dual-use problem applied to information: tools built to detect propaganda can equally detect dissent.

VIII. LLMs as Propaganda Weapons

Source: Georgetown CSET "LLM Generated Text Detection" (2023)

"Lower societal trust also creates a more favorable operating environment for propagandists to pursue their objectives. Preexisting polarization and fragmentation in society undercut the ability of honest actors to establish broad credibility, and can give influence operators a foothold to tailor their messaging to narrower audiences, sow division, and degrade social capital and institutional trust."

The report identifies AI-generated content as a force multiplier for influence operations. Previously, troll farms required hundreds of human operators. Now, a single operator with LLM access can generate personalized propaganda at scale. The infrastructure cost of information warfare has collapsed.

What this means for our infrastructure analysis: the demand for bulletproof hosting, residential proxies, and attribution-avoidance tools will increase exponentially as AI-generated influence operations scale. The same Pfcloud servers that host JS backdoors today could host AI propaganda farms tomorrow. The infrastructure is agnostic to payload.

IX. The Convergence: Infrastructure ร— Information Warfare ร— Surveillance

Q: If the same infrastructure serves cybercrime, surveillance, AND disinformation โ€” what is the actual purpose of "the internet"?
A: Control.

Not in the paranoid sense of a single controller. In the systems sense of maintaining power differentials:

  • Surveillance creates information asymmetry: they know everything about you; you know nothing about them
  • Disinformation destroys the public's ability to coordinate: you cannot resist what you cannot agree on
  • Cybercrime provides the economic engine: stolen data, ransomed systems, proxy revenues fund the infrastructure
  • Bulletproof hosting provides the sanctuary: operations that need to persist do so beyond any single jurisdiction's reach

These are not separate problems with separate solutions. They are a single system with a single infrastructure. Our honeypot sits at the intersection: every SSH probe we receive serves one of these functions. The credential brute-force builds the botnet (crime). The proxy verification recruits nodes (surveillance enablement). The malware delivery installs capabilities (all of the above).

The internet was sold as a tool of liberation. It is also โ€” simultaneously, inseparably โ€” a tool of control. Whether it liberates or controls depends entirely on who can see what is happening. Our job is to make the invisible visible. That is the only counterweight to all of the above.

X. The Digital Gladio: What We Document vs. What We Cannot See

Our honeypot sees the criminal layer of this infrastructure. We can trace Pfcloud, GHOSTYNETWORKS, OMEGATECH, the proxy bots. We can name Mishayev. We can map the ASNs.

What we cannot see โ€” what no civilian researcher can see โ€” is the state layer operating on the same infrastructure:

  • Five Eyes operations routed through residential proxy networks (no visible difference from criminal traffic)
  • Unit 8200 operations using Israeli-controlled VPN infrastructure (Kape: their own company owns the pipe)
  • GCHQ's Joint Threat Research Intelligence Group (JTRIG) operations through the same bulletproof hosting
  • Doppelgรคnger campaign servers hosted on aurologic โ€” same upstream that serves Pfcloud

The Gladio networks were exposed only after 45+ years โ€” when Italian judge Felice Casson accidentally found the Peteano bomb evidence. The digital equivalents will take longer because there are no physical evidence lockers. Only log files. And log files can be deleted by those who control the infrastructure.

Unless someone runs a honeypot. Unless someone indexes 136,617 documents. Unless someone builds a 271,000-entity intelligence database. Unless someone publishes despite the knowledge that the same infrastructure they document also carries the traffic that monitors this publication.

"The Strategy of Tension was exposed because one judge followed one thread until it unraveled the entire network. We follow threads. Every ASN trace, every RDAP lookup, every HASSH fingerprint is a thread. The network is larger than Gladio ever was โ€” it spans the entire internet. But the method is the same: follow the evidence. Name the actors. Document the infrastructure. Publish the findings. Let the pattern speak."

Combined thesis: the internet is simultaneously a surveillance tool (039B), a criminal infrastructure (039A), a proxy economy (039C), and an information weapon (039D). These are not four problems โ€” they are four views of one system. The infrastructure is shared. The operators overlap. The only people who can see the whole picture are those who observe all four simultaneously.

We observe all four. We publish all four. That is the point.
